DJI and Hasselblad introduce first joint aerial photography package
First fully integrated aerial photography platform combines DJIs M600 with Hasselblads A5D
DJI and Hasselblad today announced a fully integrated high-end aerial camera-platform bundle made up of Hasselblad’s aerial medium format camera A5D and DJI’s professional flying platform M600.
The A5D-M600 bundle is the first joint product following DJI’s recent investment in Hasselblad. The combination of the M600 and the A5D provides users with today’s most advanced aerial optics and sensors integrated with one of the world’s most reliable aerial platforms. In addition, the two companies are looking at additional joint products for the future.
‘Combining best-in-class aerial optics with the world’s most powerful aerial platform is a natural development for DJI and Hasselblad. We are delighted to provide this unique bundle to professional photographers, surveyors and mappers’, said Perry Oosting, CEO of Hasselblad.’
DJI’s M600 is designed for maximum performance and smart flight safety. The M600 is fully compatible with DJI’s advanced gimbal system the Ronin-MX. It comes fully equipped with 6 intelligent batteries, A3 flight controller, Lightbridge 2 Professional HD transmission system, a dust-proof propulsion system and powerful app control.
Hasselblad’s A5D camera combines the world’s best optics and sensors with a modern, compact design. The sensors are almost twice the size of those used in today’s best 35mm DSLR cameras and the A5D lens comes in 50mm. Hasselblad’s Natural Colour Solution (HNCS) comes standard and helps optimise difficult colour gradations straight out of the box. The A5D has a strong seal on the camera body and sensor unit preventing dust in the optical system.
Total Integration
The modular design makes the M600 easy to set up and ready to use in just minutes. Its dust proof propulsion systems simplify maintenance while actively cooled motors make for reliable operation during extended periods of time. A maximum payload of 6 kg allows it to fly the Ronin-MX gimbal and the Hasselblad A5D with ease.
Smart Flight Safety
The M600 uses sine-wave driven, intelligent ESCs to ensure it performs accurately, safely and efficiently while A3’s self-adaptive flight systems adjust flight parameters automatically based on different payloads. The A3 can be upgraded with two additional GNSS and IMU units to A3 Pro or with D-RTK GNSS for enhanced accuracy.*
Extended Flight Time & Transmission Range
The M600 features an extended flight time and a 5 km* long-range, ultra-low latency HD image transmission for accurate image composition and capture. By using 6 small DJI Intelligent Batteries, allowing it to easily be shipped to wherever it is needed. A customised battery management system and power distribution board allows all six batteries to be turned on with one button press, and keeps the system in flight in the event of a failure of a single battery, and allows users to check the battery status in real-time during flight.
Powerful App Control
The M600 supports the DJI GO app and the brand new DJI Assistant 2. Get a live HD view, battery status, redundancy status, transmission strength and much more, straight from the DJI GO app. DJI GO is also the control center for the camera, giving access to shutter speed, ISO, photo or video capture on any Zenmuse X series camera and remote focus and aperture on the Zenmuse X5 and X5R cameras. The brand new DJI Assistant 2 supports firmware updates and the new Ground Station, and comes with a built-in flight simulator.
Phocus SDK by Hasselblad
To facilitate the development of user specific software Hasselblad offers a complete Software Developers Kit (SDK) which allows full control of camera and image processing from the users own software. To quickly get started using the A5D aerial cameras for photography we have created a simple but effective PC application which can capture and store RAW files coming from the camera.
